613 Instructions for Kingdom Life

It seems we have a conumdrum.

The King James translation team missed it. It is perhaps the greatest translation typo of all time, a transliteration that has caused mass chaos and confusion since 1611.

In my Scripture studies, I found the meaning of the Hebrew word "Torah" and it was eye opening for me about faith.

Faith operates on a totally different level than belief. Faith is what you do about what God has to say.

The "Torah" is what God has to say and does not match up too well with the modern English word "law" that we find plugged into every King James Bible and virtually any other translation of the Hebrew Bible.

The missing truth is the meaning of the Hebrew word Torah.

I know that may sound strange to ears trained in Sunday school or church like mine were, but the "Torah" is not done away with. The Torah is God's word, it is His voice of teaching and instruction

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said the teaching and instruction of Torah is not old or done away with but sadly many of us in a church pew miss the truth that God's voice and Spirit is not only the source code for creation, it the way of life in The Kingdom of God.

Not one jot or tittle has passed.

Today, people are seeking answers, feeling that there has to be more and HalleluYah there is more.

If you are seeking truth, you are being called by God's Spirit because we need to know God's word and its meaning for life in the Kingdom of God.

If you have thought or heard the whisper, there has to be more. Listen to it.

It is God's Spirit calling you. There's more to Kingdom life than a few verse snippets mixed with a feel good story here and there.

Do you want to know God's will?

Then seek what Almighty God has to say to you.

The Biblical concept for the word "Torah" is not "law" as we tend to think of it. As you've just seen it can be best summed up in those two words "teaching and instruction."

Good teaching is the leadership process of education. It's for our emotional well being and growth while intervening testing here and there so that we learn the truth and with the help of God's Spirit go beyond ignorance, opinion, tradition or misconception.

Instruction is the action of teaching. It's the transfer of wisdom through knowing the right way. It comes from truth, wisdom, knowledge and understanding when we are led by the Spirit of God.

Teaching and instruction isn't exactly "law" unless you went to law school, is it?

The Torah (aka the teaching and instruction of God) can be thought of as the "constitutional" blueprint for life in the Kingdom of God straight from the voice of our Creator.

It's the Father's standard for living in His image in set apart life.

The Torah reflects the King's code of ethics for the Royal Priesthood on earth as it is in heaven.

Doing Torah does not save you, it shows you how to live just as Yeshua and the exodus story is the pattern of Torah and Messiah. Doing is not for salvation purposes, it's about walking in the way.

Israel and the sojourners with them were saved from slavery and bought out of Egypt's oppression. That points to the big picture of what Yeshua has done to delivery us from sin's slavery.

On the way to the Promised Land, Almighty God told the former slaves how to be free and live in His image. The LORD spoke to everyone there, native born and sojourner and gave them His covenant outline, the Ten Commandments. He even wrote them down.

The LORD gave everyone His calendar and His appointments, He even told them how to eat healthy foods. Pretty simple, no big religious burdens, just Bible basics on living life set apart in God's image way.

The Torah of God connects heaven (God) to planet earth (mankind). That's what happened at Calvary during Passover almost 2,000 years ago.

The Torah and The Prophets lay out a big message and point to Messiah's ground work for resurrection salvation while revealing the good news of Messiah, aka the Besorat HaMashiach.

The Torah is the written record of the oracles, the voice of the Sovereign Creator of the Universe for Kingdom life and Moses was the scribe.

Despite what you may have heard, God's grace does not make a person immune to God's voice. On the contrary, it makes a person responsible to the Kingdom life of the Holy King of the Universe.

Here's one Bible basic that religion obscures, Moses wrote what God said about the Torah's purpose for everyone or anyone that chooses to live life and walk in the kingdom way of our Creator God.

Technically, there's no Mosaic Law. After all, Moses was the scribe that wrote down what he heard from Almighty God.

The Torah is the oldest, most published book on the planet, but it's much more, it's the life style image of the King's way for all Bible believers, all children of God that choose to follow The LORD.

Moses gives us two witnesses in Deuteronomy 4:26 that this basic principle of teaching and instruction is for everyone.

Moses recorded what God had to say about the identity of two living witnesses under God's Kingdom Torah:
“The same law [Torah] shall apply to the native as to the stranger who sojourns among you.” Exodus 12:49
‘There shall be one standard for you; it shall be for the stranger as well as the native, for I am The LORD your God." Leviticus 24:22
Have you ever thought about what that means if you believe in The LORD your God whether you're Jewish or not?

I came to a life changing conclusion when I opened the front of the Bible.

After reading use a few chapters, I realized that the purpose of the Torah of God is to provide His teaching and instruction for all mankind, both Jew and non-Jew, native born and sojourner that want to live in God's image as it was intended from the beginning.

I realized we all "get to" hear and do (shema) if we love The LORD.

My conclusion came quickly and it shocked me.

With the help of God's Spirit we "get to" learn how to live life in God's image if we just choose to do it and follow The LORD God in His teaching and instruction for life in His Kingdom way.

We can walk in relationship with our Creator and with Messiah our intercessor and High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Do you realize what God's Kingdom is?

It's about walking in relationship with our Creator in the reflection of Messiah, the only one that walked and talked in the image of Almighty God on earth as it is in Heaven.

Yeshua's focus was on the Torah of The Father and because of that He healed people, encouraged them and loved them. That image of God embodiment was the plan in the beginning for everyone and it's why the Bible tells us Elohim God made us [to be] in His image from the beginning.

That sums up a lot about Yeshua, the Jew from Nazareth and why He taught everyone to repent, to turn back because the Kingdom of God is near. Wherever He went, His focus was always on repentance back to what was spoken by The Father and written by Moses and the Prophet scribes.

As good scribes they all wrote everything The Father had said without religious opinion. Yeshua understood that fully and its the reason He said:
"All things have been handed over to me by my Father..."
To begin to understand what that meant, I had to make a left turn at Matthew, tear out the blank page dividing my Bible and study the Word of God from the beginning.

That was my assignment, a what to do blessing from my earnest prayer request a few short years ago.

I knew what I had to do because I knew what I'd heard...  "Read My book, start in the beginning."

We all need to open our eyes and ears
to understand that the Torah
is the instruction of our Creator.
It's a gift of love and mercy for everyone
made in His image.

The voice of Torah teaches us how to live a blessed life. Yeshua used it as His "teaching and instruction" manual. Like I said that's why He said "All things have been handed over to me by my Father..."

That's also why Yeshua warned religious people about traditions that add to the Torah of God's voice or take away from it as it is written.

In Romans 3:1-4 Paul taught that the world owes deep gratitude to the Jewish people, chosen by God to preserve the written "oracles" as the voice of the God.

He's right.

Because of faithfulness to the Hebrew Bible by Jewish men and women, we get to read, and we get to learn how to apply God's teaching and instruction as God's principles for kingdom living. Indeed, the Kingdom is near.

The Torah is not an Old Testament.

It's not old or done away with either, if you debate that, ask what would Jesus do?

What we all need to do is open and study the foundation five books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Then we need to study the Writings of the words of God given to the Prophets.

Bottomline we need to read the very same Bible Yeshua read and taught.

Did you know the first use of the word "Torah" תּוֹרָה in the Holy Scriptures is found in Genesis 26:5?
"Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my Torah."
The second is found in Exodus 12:49:
"One Torah shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you."
I love my Jewish family, but is the Torah just for Jews?

From what I've read, its for everyone.

The word 'Torah" תּוֹרָה appears at least 219 times in the Hebrew Bible.

The Encyclopaedia Judaica agrees to the proper understanding of the meaning of the word Hebrew word "Torah." It is not just "law" as so many think. It's the direction from God on how we get to walk and it includes the principles we get to follow for doing life God's way!

Just take look at this quote from pages 39-46 of Encyclopaedia Judaica Vol. 20. 2nd ed. 2007 by Louis Isaac Rabinowitz and Warren Harvey. Ed. Michael Berenbaum and Fred Skolnik. Detroit - Macmillan Reference USA:
"The meaning of the Hebrew word "Torah" is described as "teaching", "doctrine", and "instruction"; the commonly accepted "law" gives a wrong impression."
From this simple statement, we can all learn a life changing critical truth: the teaching and instruction of God shows us all that we need God's righteous instruction to be revealed to us.

In the Hebrew Scriptures, if we just look we can all find the words foreigner, sojourner, stranger and alien. These terms come from various translations of the Hebrew root word "ger."

Hold onto your pew... in the Septuagint, the original and first Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, the word "ger" is translated into the Greek as "proselutos" or in English as proselyte.

Are you a proselyte to God's ways or a foreigner in your own way?

Isaiah gives another definition to the word foreigner. In Isaiah 56:6 the Hebrew word translated as foreigner is "b'nei haneicha" and the Greek Septuagint use of that in Isaiah is "allogenes" meaning another race.

Are you running in God's race or your own?

Modern examples of "proselyte" in use today includes a person's choice to "convert" to religious belief systems such as Judaism or Christianity and so on, but the Bible is not a belief system it's a light to the truth spoken by Almighty God on how to live life in His image.

Today, we think of a proselyte as a "convert" to a religion defined by men, but how is proselyte actually defined from a Biblical perspective?

Almighty God gives His definition as He describes it to Isaiah:
"Thus says the LORD,
Preserve justice and do righteousness,
For My salvation is about to come
And My righteousness to be revealed.
How blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who takes hold of it;
Who keeps from profaning the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil."
Isaiah 56:1-2
“Also the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD,
To minister to Him, and to love the name of the LORD,
To be His servants, every one who keeps from profaning the sabbath
And holds fast My covenant;
Even those I will bring to My holy mountain
And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar;
For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.
The Lord GOD, who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares,
Yet others I will gather to them, to those already gathered.”
Isaiah 56:6-8
In the Bible a "ger" is a person that joins themselves to The LORD in relationship.

Our choice is to follow Him in worship, to minister to Him and each other, to love the name of the LORD and to be His joyful bond servants in love, not in merit. There's no way to earn eternal life for what we do.

The Torah point us all to Messiah. The reason, we all break Torah, we all sin.

The Torah is not religion because religion is from the opinions of men.

The Torah is the voice of YHVH Almighty God, El Shaddai our Creator, the first and the last!

So, we all need to think about something and open our hearts and our minds to the Spirit of God. If we choose to reject the teaching and instruction of Almighty God, then don't we profane His name thinking that the "Torah" of God is done away with and hung on a cross?

Do we reject that The LORD is not "I AM WHO I AM" ?

That's how Almighty God introduced himself to Moses at the burning bush revealing that The LORD God YHVH is the eternal One, the Creator who is unchanging and present at all times, past, present and future.

Think about that and ask the Spirit of God what our unchanging God has to say to you.

We all have to know a Bible basic. The definition of sin is the breaking of the Torah.

That's written plan as day in the Newer Testament but due to transliteration and a religious opinion, we miss what the disciple John is really saying in 1 John 3:4 as he reiterates what's written in Deuteronomy 9:7 and Joshua 1:18.

Thank God, Yeshua HaMashiach, the embodiment of the living Torah is the anointed Savior connecting Heaven and Earth and we can receive God's gift of redemption and forgiveness of Torah breaking sin through His life blood, resurrection and intercession at the right hand of God Almighty as our High Priest.

We all need a wake up call.

If the Torah of God given to Moses to write down for all generations to know how to live life in The Kingdom of God was actually done away with, then sin doesn't exist because there's no way to break Torah if it's done away with.

If sin doesn't exist, who needs a Savior if there is no sin?

God's instruction is for life near Him
has never been done away with.
If it was there would be no need for salvation
by God's grace and mercy!

We all need to know that our relationship responsibility in love and worship is to infuse The LORD God's instruction with faith just as Abraham did. Sure we'll drop the ball just like he did, but we have to have faith and believe God's promises.

When we do that, we get to learn that Almighty God gives us His teaching and instruction as a gift for living life in His image because He loves us!

We are all blesses as God teaches us His guidelines and principles about how we are to walk and follow in  the way of Messiah. As Exodus 12:49 says, God's Torah was given to all of mankind, perhaps that is why it was given in the wilderness of Mount Sinai. It's about our journey to the Promised Land.

What hit home for me is that the Bible teaches us that God says that He does not change!

Just check out Malachi 3:6.

Forgetting that fact is the original message of the deceiver. It is the lie of the serpent in Eden. That snake in the grass is the original author of confusion and his lies subtly encourage us to doubt and "fall" for the idea that God does not mean what He says or that He changes His mind.

Think about it.

The "fall" of mankind that began in Eden was a mistaken belief, a sin that God does not mean what He says. A lie that the Torah teaching is done away with. A lie that we are equal to God.

That was the original sin. After 6,000 years of this deception, you must know the truth is you don't have to listen to any serpent's lie any longer because God does not break His word. He does not change!

A Jewish man born in Spain by the name of Moses ben Maimon (known as Maimonides or Rambam), was a rabbi and physician. He lived in the middle ages and wrote a book Sefer Hamitzvot, translated as The Book of Commandments, did his best to summarize a list of all of the do and don't instructions of the Torah.

In doing so, his book complied 613 principles of Scripture that he included in his mitzvot book, but we must keep in mind that the Torah, the teaching of Almighty God is not just a checklist of do and don't. I am not knocking Rambam's list, just that we all need to know the Torah of God requires the spirit of truth and that is much more than a list of do's and don'ts.

There's a heaven God reason for each of them.

Rambam listed 613 principles that govern the earth, some apply to priests, some to Levites, some to the Temple. If you study the list closely you'll even see some that tie to the image of Godly lifestyle when living in and some outside the Promised Land.

Rambam was brilliant and hit the nail on the head. Not only are some of them appointed for living in the Promised Land, some of God's instructions do not always apply to every person.

Some of them apply to men, some to women, some to children. In the land, some apply to the High Priest, others to Levites, other to priests, and still others to the High Priest. Some apply to the encampment around the Tabernacle or the Temple and so on. Others apply to the altar.

That means about 400 of Rambam's 613 do and don't instructions he found in the Torah cannot be wholly kept by everyone.

Notice too, that some on Rambam's list are not direct Scripture quotes.

For example, he wrote that Deuteronomy 31:19 says each male is to write a Torah scroll. Maimonides said this because he followed a traditional religious teaching of his day that it is forbidden to write only a single portion of the Torah.

Wow, that Halacha would mean we are breaking the law with Scripture "quotes of the day." That also means no Ten Commandment lists are proper. That would mean too that no list of 613 commandments can be written quoting the Bible!

Yet, the Bible says don't add to or take away from it. I'm not sure, Perhaps that was Rambam's hidden message.

The Bible teaches that writing a Torah scroll is a primary duty for a King of Israel that is chosen by God according to Deuteronomy 17:14-20.

How many kings are there in Israel chosen by Almighty God?

Better yet, what King has The LORD chosen for His Kingdom and what is the assignment? To keep and do them.

It's time to read the words of the Bible for yourself to find out who the Messiah King is.

That is the Emmaus Road message of this website, read the Bible, study the voice of God, see Messiah and do what He did and didn't do.

This is the duty of the King "chosen" by Almighty God according to Moses' sermon:
"And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites: And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them.
That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel." Deuteronomy 17:18-20
So, let me give a word of caution, the words of the Bible should be our (soul) authority on God's Kingdom instruction, not just a checklist. We all need the guidance of the Spirit of God to see the light and live in the light.

In many ways Rambam did, for example, he was the greatest Torah scholar of his day and he was a physician. By the way, the doctor never turn away a sick person on Shabbat and he never turned away a suffering person whether Jew or Gentile.

Rambam was a prolific writer and he wrote a fourteen-volume commentary called  Mishneh Torah. He drew from the Mishnah, the first major written collection of Jewish oral traditions known as the "Oral Torah." It does not follow the order of the Torah instruction, but follows a topical order with six sections.

Interestingly, the laws of conversion to Judaism are not mentioned in the Mishnah.

They are only noted years later in minor tractates or essays. The Mishnah teaches oral traditions by presenting actual cases being brought to judgment, usually noted with the debate on the matter at hand and the judgments that were given by notable rabbis over many years and established as a collection of Jewish Halacha or traditions where rabbis debated their opinions from the Hebrew Bible. Some scholars hold that there has been extensive editorial reshaping of the debates within the Mishnah over time.

The keyword is debate because there were and are many disagreements based on differing interpretations noted in the oral traditions most often by not linking them to written scriptural passages but on the religious views of rabbis often resulting in new Jewish laws as society changes over time.
There are two primary commentaries on the rabbinic rulings found in the Mishnah, they are known as the Babylonian Talmud and the Jerusalem Talmud.

As for Rambam, he published his own a comprehensive commentary on the Mishnah in 1168 and condensed his views on the Talmudic debates, while offering his views on a number of undecided issues. Since Rumba's day, a number of prominent rabbis have continued to published their own views of those debates, but Rambam's is the most well known.

In tractate Sanhedrin, chapter 10, Rambam lists "13 principles of faith" in which he summarized his views on the core beliefs of Judaism.

They show the heart of this 11th century Jewish rabbi that sought to understand our Creator:

● The existence of God.
● God's unity and indivisibility.
● God's spirituality.
● God's eternity.
● God alone should be the object of worship.
● Revelation through God's prophets.
● The preeminence of Moses among the prophets.
● The written Torah that we have today is the one dictated to Moses by God.
● The Torah will not be replaced and that nothing may be added or removed.
● God's awareness of human actions.
● Reward of good and punishment of evil.
● The coming of the Messiah, and
● The resurrection of the dead.

These 13 interpretations of Torah have very good intent, so I have included them here, yet ultimately the written Torah is the constitution of the Kingdom of God and it reveals the identity and role of King Messiah. Combined with history as we know it, the front and back of the Bible confirms the spirit-filled teaching and Torah walk of Yeshua of Nazareth and the promise of resurrection just like Rambam taught.

Rambam's compilation of do's and don'ts consists of 365 negative (-Do Not Do) and 248 positive (+Do) teachings for constitution life in the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. Rambam learned this from the teaching of another rabbi, his name was rabbi Simlai. He was a 4th century Jewish "sage" that lived in the land we now know is Israel.

My view, we all need to be sages. We all need read and study God's Word and hear the voice. However, we all need to zero in on what was written by Moses, the Prophets and the Writings, not add to it or take away from them with religious opinion.

At the same time, we have to always keep in mind that the voice that matters most is God's mountaintop message and not add in or take away from it with tradition or debate.

That's what Yeshua taught quoting Isaiah's warning in Mark 7 when He addressed the traditions of "the elders" on ceremonial hand washing a a religious requirement before eating. You can find that in Mark 7:5 yet the tradition is found over 300 times in the Talmud.

Yeshua also addressed a tradition in Mark 7:11-13 that may point to this ruling that developed later in the Gemara of the Baylonian Talmud. It says: "If one wrote: "I bequeath my estate to my son from today, and after my death," he has no longer any right to sell his estate, because it is bequeathed to his son..." (Babylonian Talmud, Book 7 Baba Bathra (Last Gate) Mishna X).

We don't know all the circumstances, but it seems that Yeshua was addressing the need of an elderly father to sell property for income needed for survival, but it was prohibited by this son due to rabbinic rule on inheritance rights.

Think about that. It means that after writing a will in Yeshua's day, a father could not downsize his home to create funds for retirement.

But think about it. In a way, that Halacha dishonors one's parents.

If that bothers you, don't throw any stones. If you say you are a Christian, consider the 1,800 year church tradition that says the Sabbath was changed and the Torah has been done away. If that's true, then honoring one's parents can be tossed out the window of grace too, no problem.

Really?

If you are still with me, before you read Rambam's list, consider that doing one or keeping all of the commandments and statutes does not bring eternal life resurrection and earn redemption from sin.

After all, only Almighty God gives resurrection salvation as an unmerited gift of His mercy and grace through His eternal lovingkindness and power as the Creator of life.

Look in most any dictionary and you'll find the Hebrew word mitzvah (commandments) or mitzvot (commandment) represents a command from God to be performed as a "religious duty."

That's not quite hitting the bullseye, after all, check the dictionary and you'll see "religion" is a personal belief system. Yet, people's beliefs vary and shift with the times.

The thing is God is not a belief, God is Almighty. He does not change.

Religion is why there are three main divisions in Christianity including Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant. Among those, there are thousands of denominational beliefs. Not only that, there are three main Jewish groups. They are Orthodox, Conservative and Reformed, but then there are others too. They include Modern Orthodox, Ultra-Orthodox, Karaite, Hasidic, non-Hasidic and more.

The mitzvah reality is God's reality. You can choose to follow The LORD God Creator of the universe and do life His way or your way. You have the choice, live in His image as it was intended form the beginning out of reverence, honor, awe and respect that starts with love, or not.

Kingdom people "get to" keep and live by the almighty voice of the Holy One that created the universe and gave us His own mitzvah way for our benefit, blessing and life.

To choose to follow the voice of the our Creator God is not a religion, it's a choice to live in His image.

The Father promises to bless us if we choose to live life under His house rules, if we do not we are striving against His heavenly way of life and we'll bring the opposite of blessings on ourselves.

Curses are not God's vindication against us, they are the warnings of a loving Father.

Take note if you read the Jewish sage's 613 principles of living, and you will notice that all except some 90 or so of them are specific to the Tabernacle and its services.

Ninety (90) things to do or not do, that's not a big list and they all boil down to ten which boil down to two.

Love your Creator God and love your fellow man like He does.

No wonder Jesus, aka Yeshua said, My burden is light, easy, if you love me do them.

Matthew 22:37 tell us why:
"Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law (Torah)? Yeshua said unto him, Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
Like ALL of Yeshua's teachings that explain the Torah and The Prophets, this Torah is from the written declaration of God at Mount Sinai.

Moses wrote this in Deuteronomy 6:5...
"And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might."
Yeshua (Jesus) summed the Torah of the Bible in this way:
"This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
So much for the religion of hanging the Torah on the cross saying it was done away with.

There's another Torah message that Yeshua taught and it is recorded plainly in the text of another story found in the "Newer Testament." It's the mitzvoth noted by our Master Rabbi and Torah teacher that says: "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."

It should ne no surprise, it is straight from Leviticus 19:18.

Paul, never turned on Torah, he says s in Romans 3:31, "God forbid" that faith never voids the Torah!
Do we then make void the law (Torah) through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law (Torah). Romans 3:31
There's a good reason Paul wrote that.

It's an admonition for all to see that faith is integral to God's teaching and instruction.

Here are twelve witnesses from the Bible where God's teaching and instruction (Torah) is described:
1. Psalms 119:142 truth
2. Romans 7:14 spirit
3. Proverbs 13:14 life
4. James 1:25 freedom
5. Isaiah 8:20 light
6. Nehemiah 9:13 good
7. Romans 7:12 holy
8. Psalms 119:44-45 eternal
9. Psalms 19:7-10 perfect
10. Proverbs 6:23 the way of life
11. Galatians 5:14 love
12. Exodus 12:49 for everyone
While we're at it, don't forget, proper translation is critical to our understanding.

We proved that by looking at the word "Torah." o, consider John 13:34-35:
"A 'new' commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all [men] know that you are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
Did you know that the word here seen as 'new' is the Greek word "kainos"?

The core meaning it conveys is not just new, it's the substance of something that is "unworn" - not worn out!

That's not a "new" commandment it's one that's never worn out!

What I've learned in my Scripture studies is that what Yeshua (Jesus) taught is profound, and like the Torah He lived out, it's for everyone.

Yeshua is teaching that the instructions of Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 18:19 are NOT worn out like old faded and torn clothes.

They are never to be kept on a bookshelf or tabletop to collect dust.

They are never to be thrown away.

They don't wear out.

The truth in Yeshua's message is simple: we are to always to wear God's ways as our way!!

We must all know and believe the eternal, unchanging Biblical truth.

Yeshua did. He worn the truth of Torah as His own and said:
John 5:46 If you had believed Moses, you would believe Me... for he wrote of me.
Matthew 4:4 It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
John 14:15: If you love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:10-13: If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in His love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and [that] your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

1John 5:2-3: By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (Quoted right out of Deuteronomy 30:11)

1John 2:3-5: And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keeps His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1John 3:24: And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in Him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

2John 1:6: And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.

Revelation 14:12: Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Yeshua.

Revelation 22:14: Blessed [are] they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
While reading the words of Almighty God in the Scriptures, ask yourself two basic questions regarding God's teaching and instruction Torah:
1) What application does God's teaching and instruction have to show and demonstrate that I love Him and how do I worship Him as He wants me to?
AND

2) What application does God's teaching and instruction have for me to show other people today that I love and want to care for them?
Many are familiar with this but don't get it:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
If you follow Jesus, do you know what He commanded?

The following list shows the 613 commandments listed by Rambam in the 12th century when he was known as Rabbi Mosheh ben Maimon. Note the added Scripture references. While he may have not gotten his list just right, we must remember, the Bible MUST BE our source, not a man-made list.

Ultimately the Spirit of God must be our teacher according to Yeshua's words in John 14:25-27.
"These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
If you're thinking this is something new, well think again as your read the words of the prophet Nehemiah:
“You gave Your good Spirit to instruct them,
Your manna You did not withhold from their mouth,
And You gave them water for their thirst." Nehemiah 9:20
Please keep this in mind as you review the list, that Rambam's effort is honorable and valiant. It' well worth study and observance:

Tracey R. Rich offers a different order of Rambam's list of the 613 Mitzvot (Commandments).

What does this all mean?

Consider a prayer: Please, God, guide me with Your Spirit as to what I should do about it.

Remember, the Bible is the book of life for life in the Kingdom of God.

It was given to the world to show mankind how to live in the Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.

The Torah, the instruction of God is the constitution of His Kingdom. It's true there are many Mitzvot or commands in the Scriptures we cannot observe today. After all. we don't offer daily sacrifices today because there is no Tabernacle with God's presence in the Holy of Holies.

But there is one that kept the wholeTorah of The Father. His name means salvation, and its Yeshua.

So it is time for you to repent and return to God's covenant ways and walk like Jesus walked, do what Jesus did. Teach like Jesus taught and make disciples.

It's time to go back and hear and keep God's word and walk in the faith of the Kingdom path so that you can ready your lamp for your coming life assignment.

Almighty God is a sovereign God. He is a loving God and He has provided a way to offer everyone His eternal salvation from the penalty of sin in resurrection, but it can never be earned striving to walk in His image, because we'll always fall short and stumble, we are human.

The LORD's instructions are given to show us why we need Him. His salvation redemption response is a gift of lovingkindness mercy and grace and the gospel of God is you can accept God's gift of eternal life through His loving Father forgiveness that starts out with repentance.

I pray that you will carefully consider what your life consists of, look at it honestly and repent of your ways and turn to God's ways. If you've ignore God's will for you, confess to your Creator, the Almighty God of Israel and ask His forgiveness and accept His gift of love and eternal life through Messiah Yeshua whose name means "salvation."

Almighty God will bless you as you start your journey to walk in the Kingdom path just like Jesus did!

Please feel free to write to me anytime if I can help you in any way along your journey down the Emmaus Road.

Shalom and may God bless!
