The narrow road to Emmaus continues, it's a life journey and the Bible is the roadmap.

Along the road, you might pray David's Song

"Behold הן [hēn] you delight in truth אמת [ĕmeṯ] in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom חכמה [ḥāḵmâ]. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation ישׁעך [yeh'-shah], and uphold me with a willing spirit."

Since the days of Ezra and Nehemiah, the Torah scroll the Prophet's scrolls have been unrolled and read portion by portion each week declaring what Almighty God has to say to us about living life in God's Kingdom.

It was definitely that way 2,000 years ago in Nazareth according to Luke 4:15-16 and later even in Antioch according to Acts 13:13-16.

Is it that way for you today?

If not ask yourself, do you believe Yeshua's words about the written Torah and what they declare?

"For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” John 5:46-47

What do you believe?

I believe this about that, just as Moses wrote...

"The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him.

This is according to all that you asked of the LORD your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, or I will die.' The LORD said to me, 'They have spoken well.

I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.'" Deuteronomy 18:15-18 NASB95

This website describes my Emmaus road trip.

I've learned it's critical to seek the Messiah in the Torah. He's there to light it up and sustain life, that's all of His teachings are repeating the written voice of God.

Perhaps the best known words spoken by Yeshua (Jesus) is the famous excerpt found in John 3:16, but what many miss is how the Prophet that Moses wrote about wrapped up the discussion with Nicodemus about being born again by the Spirit.

Yeshua shared a message you may have missed.

That message is don't just believe... do!

"But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."
John 3:21

Rest Stops Along The Emmaus Road

It's time for a reset, a re-awakening that The LORD's days on God's calendar begin at evening sunset. We can know that because since creation "there was evening, then day..." It's been God's timing since creation, twilight is the end and the beginning.

There's more to learn because some traditions have been superimposed over God's voice despite Almighty God's instruction to not add to or take away from what He has said. It's time to reach out to what is written in the Bible and seek out God's voice that is speaking to you.

When you do, you will discover it's time to turn to the Bible and return to The LORD's forever appointments:

"These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of The LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies."

They are summarized in Leviticus 23 and my best estimate at the dates are below:

Weekly Sabbath-Shabbat

The weekly seventh day now miss labeled as Saturday.

"There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the LORD."

Nisan 14 Passover-Pesach

"In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight is the LORD’S Passover."

"On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly and do no regular work. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live."

Two Witnesses

After nearly 2,000 years of religious confusion and misinformation dividing Christianity and Judaism, the Holy Spirit of Almighty God is breaking down dividing wall and leading a reconciliation between the two witnesses of Biblical faith that have begun to walk together though the weekly Torah reading and study of God's word as it is written.

This relationship is being restored and fulfilling Psalm 133 week by week. Not only that It's a big part in the mystery of the "fullness of the Gentiles" noted in Romans 11:25-27 because the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

The Father's voice is a gift and calling that has never changed, He is the I am Who I am. Elohim God is always true to his word, though men fail in theirs. So, it's time to live in pursuit of the written voice of God truth.

Engage with the Torah voice of God filled with life lessons, covenants, promises and forever appointments that all build upon each other.

Whether Jew or Gentile, none of us were at Mount Sinai, but we all need to know what Moses said about that: "It is not with you alone that I am making this sworn covenant, but with whoever is standing here with us today before The LORD our Elohim (God), and with whoever is not here with us today..." Deuteronomy 29:14-15

The Holy Bible is unlike any other book. Its messages are written from the eternal, unchanging voice of our Creator. So, it's time to tear out the blank page if one divides your Bible.

It's time to not just study, but hear and do to walk in the way of Kingdom truth that the Spirit of the LORD will reveal to you if you'll just ask for help in prayer.

That's a big part of the lesson given on the road to Emmaus. You can find it in Luke 24. It's also Paul's advice to Timothy: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

Bible study, knowledge or belief alone does not complete the Emmaus road trip.

Living out faith in God includes a willing heart to not only believe, but repent and to turn back to follow The LORD God with a changed, circumcised heart along our life road and show others how to. That's the "make disciples" charge. To be a disciple you have to disciple others in the ways of the Master.

The Hebrew Bible is not an Old Testament.

It is the living light, truth and written record of Almighty God's instruction providing a prophetic picture of how we are to live in His Kingdom and teach others about the redeeming work of Messiah in days past and those to come.

Yeshua of Nazareth meant it when He said these words as a young boy after Passover in Jerusalem:

“Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” Luke 2:49

Yeshua taught the words of God to live by. That's the message from in His first public teaching known as the Sermon on the Mount. After repeating several blessings, Yeshua (Jesus) laid it all out for everyone:

"For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a jot, not a tittle, will pass from the Torah until all is accomplished". Matthew 5:18

It's easy to see all is not accomplished. Look around, heaven and earth remain as our two witnesses. There's much more to come.
