You may have seen it the news.
Flocks of blackbirds simultaneously falling from the sky, thousands of flamingos and penguins found dead, and millions of fish washing up on the shores of the nations. Places like the U.S., Haiti, Brazil, the UK, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan and more.
You may have missed it while birds have been found dead from the West Nile virus Los Angeles and now even today: "Fears are increasing in Germany. Blackbirds are being wiped out by a tropical disease, while tests are being conducted to try to find out why they died.
Reports of mass deaths of blackbirds through the Rhine-Neckar area of Germany have been gathering pace over the last few weeks, and on Wednesday the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg, pointed the finger at the Usutu virus which comes from Africa.
“The find is alarming as the Usutu virus can also infect people,” said Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit, virologist at the Institute, although he stressed there was no known case of a person becoming infected with the virus in Germany."
It sounds like the preamble for an apocalypse and in my Scripture studies I found Hosea the prophet told us this would happen... are we listening to him? I am not too sure, so we need to understand the message behind Hosea 4.
Hosea gives the reason in the prior verse:
Bloodshed follows bloodshed. It's a curse we bring on ourselves, just as we destroy life on earth by pollution, we destroy ourselves when we ignore God's instruction manual for life.
Since the 1970s, the U.S. Geological Survey's National Wildlife Health Center in Wisconsin has tracked mass mortality events among birds, fish and other animals in the United States. The most recent mortality and morbidity events can be viewed here.
Water is a common theme in these mass die offs. The Bible is the living water and it is being polluted by humanity because we divide it saying two third's of it are either old and done away with. In that way, we insert a page to divide and rip it apart destroying its foundation and forsaking it and the voice of The Lord that gives it life as the fountain of living water:

Gray Whale Spotted on Wrong Side of World

There is only one problem.
There are no gray whales off Israel.
Prior to this event, there were no known gray whales in the Mediterranean Sea.
There are in fact no gray whales in the Atlantic - none have been seen there since the eighteenth century when the species was thought to be exterminated by commercial whalers.
None of them ever swim within half a planet of the "Holy Land."
Could this whale be somehow related to Messiah Yeshua's words and Jonah's whale?
Matthew 1:21 says: “She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Yeshua, (ישוע means "Yah saves") because he will save his people from their sins.”

There is a correlation, humanity needs to understand the impact of pollution on our planet.
Pollution from toxins, chemical waste, plastics and other unprocessed waste dumped in our seas have been studied and ignored by most people. This ties to the pollution of God's life giving Word. Humanity has failed to believe and has polluted the Bible, ignored it or parts of it just as people have ignored our formerly pristine planet that gives life and polluted it.
There is no attempt here to note all the sin that leads to death or all of the mass deaths of birds, fish and animal life around the planet. You should visit the Living Planet Index to learn more about the declines of our planets biodiversity.
The goal here at this website is like Hosea's... to make you think about the connections.
In the past eight months, the USGS has logged 95 mass wildlife instant die-offs in North America and that's probably a dramatic undercount, according to the USGS. The list includes 900 some turkey vultures that seemed to drown and starve in the Florida Keys, 4,300 ducks killed in Minnesota, 1,500 salamanders in Idaho, 2,000 bats in Texas, and the still mysterious death of 2,750 sea birds in California.
The people of this nation and others have declared lies and deceit…. let’s outlaw prayer in school, speaking the name of our Savior, let’s replace the Bible with the false religion of evolution, let’s have our highest court legalize abortion and let our lower courts make divorce commonplace. Let’s call it "pro-choice" and "a right to choose". Let’s give "tolerance" and embrace false gods and false prophets of many religions, let us separate God from our state. Let’s waste billions of dollars each year searching for the origins of life in space in our foolish attempt to promote the atheistic false religion of Darwin.
While we are at it, we might as well make the rule of the people as the days of Noah, so we approve the marriage of man to man, woman to woman and we teach in our schools that homosexuality is an acceptable life-style, one that you are free to choose.
And now some even say Jesus was ‘just a man’. They think that we can put God in a box and understand His mystery and majesty. Some proclaim that Yeshua did not remove the curse of death by the law He established in Eden, that the penalty only He can overcome and reverse by His own perfect life and resurrection was done alone by a mortal man. Because of love I am here to warn all about this great sin.
Turn your heart. God’s purpose in chastisement and tribulation is according to God’s own proclamation.
It has a divine purpose, to get us to a point of turning our hearts and our actions back towards Him and His word and to show us that we are to away from the sins that keep us from fellowship with Him. God often does this at a personal level with only minor chastisement.
In 2011, there were over 60 reported mass wildlife death events occurred in over 30 nations.
But told Hosea warns us about this… that cities and the nations will come to their knees with devastating chastisement before they will give up their stubborn refusal to honor and worship him.
Anyone who has been through a traumatic experience because of the behavior of one of their children knows how stressful that can be. If your child committed a robbery or killed someone, as a parent it would affect you deeply and gravely. If you had ten children, but only one or two of them ever bothered to call you or visit you, the loneliness you might experience would hurt very much.
It is difficult to imagine what it must be like for our God to have to deal with a people, a ten-nation like ours. So the coming chastisement is something He will do to discipline those who He loves when they refuse to repent and return to Him. The following words come from Hosea. They have updates placed in them for what we are seeing today so that your eyes might be opened.
The verses are not labeled because you need to open the book of Hosea for yourself, study it and find these words and let them speak to you directly.
That is why your land is in mourning, and everyone is wasting away. Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea are disappearing. Hosea 4:3 NIVThe reason?
Hosea gives the reason in the prior verse:
There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. Hosea 4:2 NIVHosea's reason is bound in sin. Sin is like a deadly virus, a parasite, a trauma. It works like a destructive harmful bacteria. It is a toxic fire of the soul.
Bloodshed follows bloodshed. It's a curse we bring on ourselves, just as we destroy life on earth by pollution, we destroy ourselves when we ignore God's instruction manual for life.

O LORD, the hope of Israel,There is more. As we seek to divide God's Word today, the world seeks to divide Israel. Does Hosea later tell us the loss of life on the planet is tied to the timing of the princes of the earth, the UN that seeks to move The Lord's Promised Land boundaries?
All who forsake You will be put to shame.
Those who turn away on earth will be written down,
Because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, even the LORD.
Jeremiah 17:13
"The princes of Judah have become like those who move a boundary; On them I will pour out My wrath like water." Hosea 5:10But the story is not just about death, it's about a sign to point us back to repentance and life, a sign that's points us to Israel.

"An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed." Matthew 16:4The signpost in Jonah's story is about the need to declare repentance. Jesus is teaching that repentance is required, it a part of the salvation solution because God's heart is to bring up life from the pit just as Jonah prayed: "Salvation is from the LORD." June 22, 2021: June 22, 2021: Birds acting blind when approached, dying by hundreds. Scientists don't know why
"Hundreds of birds are dying without explanation in parts of the South and Midwest.
Wildlife experts in at least six states and Washington, D.C., have reported an increase in sick or dying birds in the past month. The most commonly afflicted birds are blue jays, common grackles and European starlings.
“We’re experiencing an unusual amount of bird mortality this year,” said Kate Slankard, an avian biologist with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. “We have yet to figure out what the problem is. The condition seems to be pretty deadly.”
Symptoms include crusty or puffy eyes, neurological signs of seizures and an inability to stay balanced."

February 10, 2020: Scientists' warning to humanity on insect extinctions
"We are causing insect extinctions by driving habitat loss, degradation, and fragmentation, use of polluting and harmful substances, the spread of invasive species, global climate change, direct overexploitation, and co-extinction of species dependent on other species.
With insect extinctions, we lose much more than species. We lose abundance and biomass of insects, diversity across space and time with consequent homogenization, large parts of the tree of life, unique ecological functions and traits, and fundamental parts of extensive networks of biotic interactions. Such losses lead to the decline of key ecosystem services on which humanity depends. From pollination and decomposition, to being resources for new medicines, habitat quality indication and many others, insects provide essential and irreplaceable services. We appeal for urgent action to close key knowledge gaps and curb insect extinctions. An investment in research programs that generate local, regional and global strategies that counter this trend is essential. Solutions are available and implementable, but urgent action is needed now to match our intentions."

More than 1 billion animals estimated dead in Australia wildfires: Expert
"MOLLYMOOK, AUSTRALIA -- More than 1 billion animals are estimated to have died in the devastating wildfires ravaging Australia, an expert said Wednesday.
More than 800 million of those animals are estimated to have been killed in New South Wales alone, according to a statement from The University of Sydney.
"It's events like this that may well hasten the extinction process for a range of other species," Professor Chris Dickman of The University of Sydney, the expert who made the estimate, told National Public Radio."

July 18, 2019: Mass death events by disease are not limited to animals, birds or fish. Sometimes the diseases that destroy wildlife can mutate and morph and cause mass death events for people.
Today, that's the case according to Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General.
The Ebola virus is thought to have begun as a disease transmission from fruit bats to humans.
Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern
"Since it was declared almost a year ago the outbreak has been classified as a level 3 emergency – the most serious – by WHO, triggering the highest level of mobilization from WHO. The UN has also recognized the seriousness of the emergency by activating the Humanitarian System-wide Scale-Up to support the Ebola response.
In recommending a PHEIC the committee made specific recommendations related to this outbreak."
“This is about mothers, fathers and children - too often entire families are stricken. At the heart of this are communities and individual tragedies,” said Dr. Tedros."
It's important to take note of this declaration from the UN's World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the current Congo Ebola outbreak as only it's fifth Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).
According to FoxNews: "This is the fifth such declaration in history. Previous emergencies were declared for the devastating 2014-16 Ebola outbreak in West Africa that killed more than 11,000 people, the emergence of Zika in the Americas, the swine flu pandemic and polio eradication."
According to the WHO's Frequently asked questions on Ebola virus disease
1. What is Ebola virus disease?
Ebola virus disease (formerly known as Ebola haemorrhagic fever) is a rare but severe, often fatal, often fatal illness, with a death rate of up to 90% in humans caused by the Ebola virus, a member of the filovirus family. Death rates have varied from 25% to 90% in past outbreaks.
The Ebola virus was first identified in 1976 when 2 simultaneous outbreaks occurred, 1 in Yambuku, a village not far from the Ebola River in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the other in a remote area of Sudan.
The origin of the virus is unknown, but current evidence suggests that fruit bats (Pteropodidae) may be a host.
2. How do people become infected with the Ebola virus?
People become infected with Ebola either through contact with infected animals (usually following butchering, cooking or eating) or through contact with the bodily fluids of infected humans. Most cases are caused by human to human transmission which occurs when blood or other bodily fluids or secretions (stool, urine, saliva, semen) of infected people enters a healthy person’s body through broken skin or mucous membranes.
Infection can also occur if the broken skin or the mucous membranes of a healthy person comes into contact with items or environments contaminated with bodily fluids from an infected person. These may include soiled clothing, bed linen, gloves, protective equipment and medical waste such as used hypodermic syringes.

January 15, 2019: Following well over 300 mass wildlife death events in over 60 countries in 2018, the global toll continues this year: How one heatwave killed 'a third' of a bat species in Australia
"Over two days in November, record-breaking heat in Australia's north wiped out almost one-third of the nation's spectacled flying foxes, according to researchers.
The animals, also known as spectacled fruit bats, were unable to survive in temperatures which exceeded 42C.
In the city of Cairns, locals saw bats toppling from trees into backyards, swimming pools and other locations.
Wildlife rescuers found surviving animals clumped together, usually on branches closer to the ground.
"It was totally depressing," one rescuer, David White, told the BBC.
'Biblical scale'
Last week, researchers from Western Sydney University finalised their conclusion that about 23,000 spectacled flying foxes died in the event on 26 and 27 November.
That tally was reached through counting by wildlife volunteers who visited seven flying fox camps following the heatwave."
November 30, 2018 Dozens Of Pilot Whales Die In New Zealand's 3rd Mass Stranding In A Week
Less than a week after a mass stranding left nearly 150 pilot whales dead on an island off New Zealand, the country finds itself coping with another unsettling spectacle of death. As many as 90 pilot whales were discovered beached Thursday night in the remote Chatham Islands, an archipelago hundreds of miles east of New Zealand.
More dead dolphins, sick birds found in Collier while officials await test results
Two more dead dolphins were found Thursday in Collier County, bringing the total to 41 found in Lee and Collier counties since Nov. 21.
On Tuesday, 15 dolphins washed up dead in Collier and Lee counties, said Blair Mase, a marine mammal stranding coordinator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The next day, two more dead dolphins were found in Collier County, Mase said.
The dolphins found Thursday were seen by a crew from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission conducting an aerial survey of Southwest Florida beaches.

August 5, 2018: FLORIDA RED TIDE HAS ALREADY KILLED 400 SEA TURTLES AND IT'S EXPECTED TO LAST UNTIL 2019
"A red tide of algae has been killing the manatees and sea turtles swimming in Southwest Florida waters.
At least 400 sea turtles have died, washing up on the coastal shore or being pulled from the waters. On Tuesday, a manatee that had likely died due to red tide poisoning was picked up outside a yacht club in Cape Coral, Florida, according to a report from USA Today. The tide has been cutting off the oxygen supply to underwater sea life, causing suffocation.
The red tide is a normal occurrence in the Gulf of Mexico, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. But it can be transported to different waterways through wind, currents and water temperature.
The toxic tide has been lingering off the coast since November and while it's usually broken up by cold fronts, marine experts say this batch of red algae could last into 2019. The algae bloom stretches about 100 miles from Sarasota to Collier, Florida. It's littering beachy shores with dead fish, turtles and other underwater creatures."
WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGES: Dead fish, turtles, manatees wash up on southwest Florida beaches
"It may be interesting to look at, but an explosion of red tide algae off the coast of southwestern Florida is killing off marine animals in record numbers, decimating the population of creatures such as fish, sea turtles, manatees and more.
A number of news reports, including one from the Miami Herald, detail how extensive the damage is and how widespread it has become, ranging from Tampa Bay to the Florida Keys."
October 16, 2017: Though-out 2017, over 450 reported mass wildlife death events occurred in over 80 nations. Antarctic penguin chick die-off alarms researchers
"Researchers said Sunday the mass die-off occurred because unusually large amounts of sea ice forced penguin parents to travel farther in search of food for their young. By the time they returned, only two out of thousands of chicks had survived.
"Not only did the chick starve but the partner (who stayed behind) also had to endure a long fast," said Yan Ropert-Coudert, a marine ecologist with the French science agency CNRS.
Ropert-Coudert, who leads the study of seabirds at the Dumont D'Urville Antarctic research station, said the Adelie colony there numbers about 18,000 pairs who have been monitored since the 1960s. A similar breeding loss was observed for the first time during a 2013-2014 research expedition.
"It is unusual because of the size of the population concerned," he said in an email to The Associated Press. "Zero breeding success years have been noted before elsewhere, but never for colonies of this size.""
Update May 6, 2017: Hundreds of Leopard Sharks Wash Up Dead on San Francisco Beaches
"For seven weeks now, hundreds upon hundreds of leopard shark corpses have been washing up on the beaches of San Francisco Bay, turning the City by the Bay into the “Dead Shark Capital of California.”
A similar incident occurred in 2011, when the beautiful beaches of San Francisco Bay were choked with the fetid corpses of leopard sharks. Similar die-offs have been reported going back to 1967.
"I look at it as a 50-year-old shark murder mystery, and we are hopefully closing in on the killer," said California Department of Fish and Wildlife senior fish pathologist Mark Okihiro to Bay Nature, a California conservation group.
Okihiro's necropsy found that the sharks were being killed by infections, for the most part. When a marine animal like a shark gets an infection, it's usually been caused by dirty and diseased water. But the water in the San Francisco Bay is famously clean, which has made the cause of this phenomenon a mystery."
Update February 10, 2017: 650 whales stranded in New Zealand
"WELLINGTON, New Zealand — A new pod of 240 whales swam aground at a remote New Zealand beach on Saturday just hours after weary volunteers managed to refloat a different group of whales following an earlier mass stranding.
In total, more than 650 pilot whales have beached themselves along a 5 kilometre (3 mile) stretch of coastline over two days on Farewell Spit at the tip of the South Island. About 335 of the whales are dead, 220 remain stranded, and 100 are back at sea.
Department of Conservation Golden Bay Operations Manager Andrew Lamason said they are sure they’re dealing with a new pod because they had tagged all the refloated whales from the first group and none of the new group had tags.
The news was devastating for hundreds of volunteers who had come from around the country to help with the initial group of 416 stranded whales that was found early Friday, many of them already dead."
Update December 30, 2016: Though-out 2016, over 550 reported mass wildlife death events occurred in over 80 nations. Up to 20,000 dead fish, other animals wash up on Nova Scotia coast
"The cheetah could be sprinting toward extinction, according to wildlife experts, who warn that urgent action is needed to preserve the species.
A study published Monday by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and wild cat conservation group Panthera reveals that just 7,100 cheetahs remain in the wild.
Cheetahs have been driven out of 91 percent of their historic range, according to the study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Hardest hit are cheetah populations in Asia, where fewer than 50 individuals remain in one part of Iran."
Update December 7, 2016: Montana is beautiful but also deadly and threatening life in many places. The 700 acre Berkeley pit is one of these and it is a horrific, toxic and deadly "Superfund site" that has no hope whatsoever of cleanup or recovery.
The 'Berkeley Pit" was once a copper mine, it is some 1,700 feet deep but filled now with water poisoned by heavy concentrations of arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, copper, iron, zinc and other inorganic compounds just outside the city of Butte. After it was abandoned, the pit became a federally managed Superfund site. Today, it is the death trap of some 10,000 beautiful white snow geese:
Thousands of snow geese have died after toxic exposure in Berkeley Pit
"BUTTE - Despite best efforts to scare more than 10,000 snow geese out of the Berkeley Pit, officials with Montana Resources estimate thousands of the birds have died from exposure to the toxic mine waste water.
“The feeling of helplessness, we couldn’t help every single bird,” said Mark Thompson of Montana Resources.
On November 28th, migrating geese by the thousands landed in the enormous pit created by decades of open-pit mining.
It has been filling with poisonous water since the mining stopped in 1982.
Montana Resources, which oversees the pit, has spent the past 20 years hazing waterfowl away from the pit by using noise makers and firearms. However, employees have never seen this many geese descend on the pit."

March 7, 2015: Sick, starving sea lion pups wash up in record numbers on California coast
"Melin, who has been studying sea lion populations on San Miguel and San Nicolas, said scientists are recording devastating effects from the current warm-water event. In September, the average weight of 3-month-old pups on the two islands was 19 percent less than normal. In February, the average weight of 7-month-old pups was 44 percent less than normal. The pups gained little or no additional weight from October through January.
On San Miguel, where 20,000 sea lions are born each June, Melin said researchers believe “probably close to 10,000 are dead, and we expect more to die over coming months.” She said the mortality rate is similar on San Nicolas."

"More than 120,000 of the endangered saiga antelope have died in recent weeks due to illness, conservation and wildlife officials say, a mystifying loss that represents more than a third of its global population.Update May 29, 2015: Researchers say that a massive algae bloom is taking over the Monterrey Bay and scientists are repeatedly warning don't eat shellfish or forage fish.
“This loss is a huge blow for saiga conservation in Kazakhstan and in the world,” Kazakhstan’s vice agriculture minister Erlan Nysynbaev said in a statement released by the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals, a treaty under the U.N. Environment Programme. “It is very painful to witness this mass mortality.”
Scientists have identified a number of biological and environmental factors that have likely contributed to the deaths but the exact cause remains unclear. Two bacteria pathogens, Pasteurella and Clostridia, have been found in the carcasses but neither were considered the lethal cause unless the immune system was already weak.
Adding to scientists’s confusion and frustration, the mystery ailment leaves no survivors when it hits a herd. “The scale is absolutely unprecedented,” Dr. Aline Kuehl-Stenzel, a coordinator of the Convention, told the New York Times."
As Bible readers we have seen that warning before direct from our Creator:
“These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat. But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is detestable to you. You shall regard them as detestable; you shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses. Everything in the waters that has not fins and scales is detestable to you." Leviticus 11:9-12 ESVIn Leviticus, YHVH God simply warned us. He did not need to go into His reasoning or the details of domoic acid which is a kainic acid analog neurotoxin that is poisonous. He didn't have to mention that exposure to biotoxins affects the brain, causing seizures, illness and potentially death because He didn't have to. His warning to not eat shellfish or forage fish without scales was enough.
It's time to spread the word to return to His word, it alone is eternally righteous and designed for life.
Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary: Mass die-off could happen from red tide
"MONTERREY, Calif. —Scientists with the Monterrey Bay National Marine Sanctuary are predicting a mass die-off on the Central Coast because of a powerful red tide.Update April 24, 2015: Bird flu viruses have been detected every year in the United States over the past 50 years or so, but this year is particularly a very bad year. Today, The Wall Street Journal reports: Escalating Bird-Flu Outbreak Takes Toll on U.S. Poultry Farms
Researchers are seeing the highest levels of red tide in more than a decade, and they're worried it will have grave impacts on marine life.
"This is probably the largest domoic acid event they've seen in the last decade, so it is pretty severe," said Scott Kathey of the Monterrey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
Up and down the West Coast, a large algal bloom of Pseudo-nitzschia is growing rapidly. As it gets bigger, it's producing more and more domoic acid, known to most people as red tide. The acid closes shellfish harvesting and can kill some animals.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported in early May that particulate domoic acid levels were exceeding 30 micrograms per liter of seawater. Shellfish harvesting closures are implemented when domoic acid levels reach 20 micrograms per gram of shellfish tissue. The bloom has continued to grow since then."

Scientists were dissecting the bodies of the whales, 156 of which were found on two beaches on Japan's Pacific coast on Friday, but could not say what caused the beachings.
"We don't see any immediate signs of diseases on their bodies, such as cancer. We want to figure out what killed these animals," Tadasu Yamada, a senior researcher at National Museum of Nature and Science, told public broadcaster NHK.
Despite the lack of any clear link between the beachings and earthquakes and comments from local officials downplaying such a connection, many took to social media to point to the link.

"It is the fastest-spreading, largest outbreak they have seen in 10 years," Xinhua reported Thursday quoting Chen Bao-ji, Taiwan's agriculture council chief as saying.
According to the latest figures released by the agriculture authority, 31 more poultry farms were found to be infected with avian influenza as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, bringing the total number of affected farms on the island to 301.
Poultry culls have been carried out on 186 farms from the island's ten counties. A total of 403,811 infected livestock from these farms have been killed.
The first case in the latest outbreak was confirmed Jan 9 when a chicken farm in Pingtung was found to have been hit by the H5N2 virus.
To prevent the virus from spreading, the agriculture authority has required that all farms infected with the H5 strain of the bird flu virus that have seen a death rate of 20 percent or more within a span of two days will be subject to culling."
Today, CBS News filed this news story Mass Animal Deaths on the Rise Worldwide
"Thousands of birds fall from the sky. Millions of fish wash up on the shore. Honey bee populations decimated. Bats overtaken by a deadly fungus. Piglets die in droves from a mysterious disease. The graphic below shows the results of this critical study that Hosea warned us about.
It was tragic stories such as these that prompted a group of researchers from the University of San Diego, UC Berkeley and Yale to embark on a broad review of all the reports of large animal die-offs in the scientific literature since the middle of the last century. They turned up 727 such papers documenting "mass mortality events" (MME) of 2,407 global populations of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians and marine invertebrates -- like the thousands of starfish that perished in North America in 2014.
Their analyses, published this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, revealed that not only are these events becoming more frequent, they're also increasing in magnitude, with the number of fatalities higher for birds, fish and marine invertebrates. Thirty-five events completely or nearly wiped out an entire population."

But Peruvian environmental police are looking into other possible causes for the deaths, including disease and the accidental ingestion of plastic.
The rotting corpses were found on Anconcillo beach in the Ancash region.
Agents said the bodies were of young as well as old animals, the official Andina news agency reported.
They were considered a health hazard and quickly removed from the beach, which lies some 400km (250 miles) north of the capital, Lima.
Earlier this month, a similar incident happened further north, in the Piura region, where the bodies of nearly 200 sea lions, dolphins, turtles and pelicans washed ashore.
Officials are still investigating the causes of those deaths."

Guanabara Bay has already been the subject of concern amongst sailors who are to compete in Rio because of the human sewage that gets pumped into its waters.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has expressed confidence that Guanabara will be fit for purpose by the time of the games.
But the recent appearance of thousands of dead fish, and the foul stench of their rotting carcasses, has attracted further scrutiny with the Olympics less than two years away.
Scientists are baffled by the phenomenon but say there is no evidence so far to suggest pollution is the cause."

What's Killing the Starfish? Scientists Need More Clues
"WASHINGTON — Scientists are struggling to find the cause of a gruesome disease that is killing off numerous species of starfish on both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts of North America.Update April 28, 2014: Killer virus spreads unchecked as pork hits record
Researchers said on Thursday that they have ruled out some of the possible culprits, including fungi, some parasites and certain types of microbes. Now they're considering whether viruses or bacteria may be to blame.
The starfish, also called sea stars, are being obliterated by an unexplained wasting disease that causes white lesions to appear before the animal's body sags and ruptures and it spills out its internal organs. "There's the potential that some of these species could actually go extinct," said Cornell University ecologist Drew Harvell, one of the scientists involved in the loosely organized search for a cause."
"The killer stalking U.S. hog farms is known as PEDv, a malady that in less than a year has wiped out more than 10 percent of the nation's pig population and helped send retail pork prices to record highs. The Time article says it is killing one-third of the people it infects. It is called Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS. But the CDC says it kills half of those infected. The World Health Organization began tracking the disease on September 23, 2012, three days before Yom Kippur.
"About 49 people have been infected in the past six days by the incurable Middle East Respiratory Syndrome virus, which has claimed 76 lives in Saudi Arabia. The country's Health Minister said he did not know the cause of the sudden rise in cases"
"Authorities say the disease, which scientists have linked to camels and is similar to the SARS virus, does not spread easily from person to person and could die out on its own. However, some experts have warned that the virus could mutate, allowing for easier human-to-human transmission."

In Northeast Minnesota, the population has dropped by half since 2006, to 4,300 from more than 8,800. In 2012, the decline was steep enough — 35 percent — that the state and local Chippewa tribes, which rely on moose meat for subsistence, called off the moose hunt. The mortality rate rebounded slightly this year, but moose continue to die at twice the normal rate to sustain a population. Researchers elsewhere, along the southern edge of moose territory in New Hampshire and Montana, are also beginning to notice declines in the animals’ numbers."Update February 26, 2014: Report: Camels Play Key Role in Spread of Deadly Virus in Middle East

The National Agricultural Statistics Service reports that the U.S. inventory of cattle and calves totaled 87.7 million animals as of Jan. 1. That was down by about 1.6 million cattle, or 2 percent, compared with a year ago.
The agency says this is the lowest January inventory since 1951. A bright spot was a 2 percent increase in young, female cattle retained for breeding. One expert says that factor could allow the herd’s seven-year contraction to stabilize.
Totals in Texas, the nation’s leading cattle producer, decreased 4 percent. The January report had been anxiously awaited because the agency didn’t issue a report in July due to sequestration."

SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com) — What is causing some marine life along the West Coast to disintegrate and die-off?Update October 22, 2013: Can oarfish predict earthquakes? Maybe it's not as crazy as it sounds
KNX1070′s Brian Ping reports a mysterious disease is decimating a breed of starfish even as federal officials are slashing projected West Coast sardine harvests.
Scientists say an outbreak of “sea star wasting disease,” an affliction that causes starfish to develop white lesions, lose arms, and eventually disintegrate, is spreading at a rapid rate from Southern California all the way up to Alaska.
The disease has killed off some 95 percent of orange and purple starfish that are commonly found in West Coast tide pool populations, according to the Associated Press.

"Finding a giant oarfish washed up on the beach is a rare occurrence, since the fish is a deepwater species that's rarely seen at all. So when a second oarfish was found just five days later, the rumor mill kicked into high gear.Update October 16,2013: Business Insider reports Moose Populations Are Plummeting In The Northeast
An 18-foot-long (5.5-meter) oarfish carcass discovered on Oct. 13 was considered a once-in-a-lifetime event for beachgoers on Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California. But that event was followed five days later by a second oarfish, measuring 14 feet (4.3 meters), found on a beach in San Diego County.
Now, some are claiming that oarfish washing ashore is a sign that an earthquake will soon follow. Shortly before the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami struck Japan, about 20 oarfish stranded themselves on beaches in the area, Mark Benfield, a researcher at Louisiana State University, told LiveScience in an earlier interview. [Video - ROV Captures Bizarre Deep-Sea Oarfish]
The oarfish is known in Japan as ryugu no tsukai or "messenger from the sea god's palace," according to the Japan Times. Dozens of the deep-sea denizens were discovered by Japanese fishermen around the time a powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck Chile in March 2010.
Kiyoshi Wadatsumi, a specialist in ecological seismology, told the Japan Times, "Deep-sea fish living near the sea bottom are more sensitive to the movements of active faults than those near the surface of the sea.""

In Virginia alone, at least 164 dead dolphins have been found this year, said Joan M. Barns, public relations manager for the Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach. Almost half of those, 78, have washed ashore in August, she said.
As of Tuesday, federal authorities say, they have recorded 228 dolphin deaths this year from New York to Virginia. In all of 2012, 111 deaths were recorded."
"As we’ve written before, the mysterious mass die-off of honey bees that pollinate $30 billion worth of crops in the US has so decimated America’s apis mellifera population that one bad winter could leave fields fallow. Scientists had struggled to find the trigger for so-called Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) that has wiped out an estimated 10 million beehives, worth $2 billion, over the past six years. Suspects have included pesticides, disease-bearing parasites and poor nutrition. But in a first-of-its-kind study published today in the journal PLOS ONE, scientists at the University of Maryland and the US Department of Agriculture have identified a witch’s brew of pesticides and fungicides contaminating pollen that bees collect to feed their hives. The findings break new ground on why large numbers of bees are dying though they do not identify the specific cause of CCD, where an entire beehive dies at once."
"Bee populations are so low in the US that it now takes 60% of the country’s surviving colonies just to pollinate one California crop, almonds. And that’s not just a west coast problem—California supplies 80% of the world’s almonds, a market worth $4 billion."
At least 111 manatees, 300 pelicans, and 46 dolphins — emaciated to the point of skin and bones — were all found dead in America’s most biologically diverse estuary.

The list includes 900 some turkey vultures that seemed to drown and starve in the Florida Keys, 4,300 ducks killed in Minnesota, 1,500 salamanders in Idaho, 2,000 bats in Texas, and the still mysterious death of 2,750 sea birds in California.
On average, 163 such events are reported to the federal government each year, according to USGS records. And there have been much larger die-offs than the 3,000 blackbirds in Arkansas. Twice in the summer of 1996, more than 100,000 ducks died in Canada.
Do we know what is coming? Well, we should because God declares the end from the beginning.“And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.” Genesis 15:14
[Bold underlines and bracketed comments are mine.]
It means we need to know "Who is the One Called Jesus.
For the land has committed great whoredom, [departing] from YHVH. And it shall come to pass at that day, that you [are] not my people. [That you do not even know your name, your identity as my chosen or who I AM.] And I will cause all your religious joy to end, your own festival days, your [Santa Claus] imaginations.
But the two witnesses called out by Moses - heaven and earth will speak and it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, says YHVH, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth. [As for you, you are to] Hear the word of YHVH, you children of Israel; For YHVH has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: "Indeed there is no truth, Nor goodness, Nor knowledge of God in the land. There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery.
[Even] In the [Promised] land itself they break boundaries, and bloodshed [from jihad terrorism] causes more bloodshed. [They think giving the heritage land I gave to them is about a peace plan and division is their solution.]
[Because of my love I will warn you of your sin] Therefore the land will mourn, And everyone who dwells therein will waste away. All living things in her, even the animals of the field and the birds of the sky; Yes, the fish of the sea also die.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because they have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you will not be a priest to me: seeing you’ve forgotten the Torah of your God, I will also forget your children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: [therefore] will I change their glory into shame.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: [but] Ephraim will become a desolation in the day of rebuke; Among the tribes of Israel I declare what is sure. [This will be at a time when] The representative leaders of the people of Judah have become like those who move a boundary; On them I will pour out My wrath like water.
[Then] They will then call out and say "Come, let us return to YHVH. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.” "He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him.”
[His identity is not seen in his own mirror because] Ephraim mixes himself with the nations; yet I will spread My net over them;
I will bring them down like the birds of the sky.
I will chastise them in accordance with the proclamation to their assembly. Woe to them, for they have strayed from Me! Destruction is theirs, for they have rebelled against Me! I would redeem them, but they speak lies against Me.
Their princes [manmade government leaders of people] will fall by the sword because of the insolence of their tongue.
"Put the shofar to your lips! Something like an eagle is over The Lord's house
Because they have broken my covenant, And rebelled against my Torah. They have set up kings, but not by me. They have made princes (leaders of people), and I didn't approve.
I wrote for him [Ephraim] the many things of my law [Torah]; But they were regarded as a strange thing [They strangely think it was hung on the cross.]
For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; And Judah has multiplied fortified cities; But I will send a fire on his cities, ....For you were unfaithful to your God. You love the wages…
What will you do in the day of solemn assembly, And in the [appointed judgment] day of the feast of YHVH?
[Their economy will collapse] Nettles will possess their pleasant things of silver. Thorns will be in their tents. The days of [punishment] visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come.
Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, And the man who is inspired to be insane, Because of the abundance of your sins, And because your hostility is great. [But] A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler's snare is on all of his paths, And hostility in the house of his God. [The opposition against the prophet to Ephraim will come from within].
[What happened to Ephraim?] My God will cast them away, because they did not listen to him; And they will be wanderers among the nations. Their heart is divided. [Now what?]
Now they will be found guilty. They make promises, swearing falsely in making covenants [against God and the land]. Therefore judgment springs up like poisonous weeds. When it is my desire, I will chastise them; And the nations will be gathered against them, When they are bound to their double guilt.
[In this chastisement], it is time to seek YHVH, Until he comes and rains righteousness on you. [Because] You have plowed wickedness. You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, For you trusted in your way, in the multitude of your mighty men. [you trusted your military to protect you but they could not stop the chastisement]. Therefore a battle roar will arise among your people, And all your fortresses [systems] will be destroyed.... Though he flourishes among the reeds, an east wind will come, The wind of YHVH coming up from the wilderness; It will plunder his {Ephraim’s} treasury of every precious article [your debt based economies will fail].
[Why?]
Ephraim surrounds Me with lies and the house of Israel with deceit; Judah is also unruly against God, Even against the Holy One who is faithful. It is your destruction, O Israel, That you are against Me, against your help.. Where now is your king that he may save you in all your cities...
The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; His sin is stored up. The pains of childbirth come upon him....
[But there is a great promise after the slavery as in the days of bondage for Israel in Egypt…]
I will not execute the [complete] fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim: For I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of you; And I will not come in wrath.
[Like the days of the Exodus] They [Ephraim and the sojourners] will walk after YHVH, Who will roar like a lion; For he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west. Return, O Israel, to YHVH your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity.
Take words [the Torah] with you and return to YHVH.... I will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from them.
Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways [the ways are God’s Torah, His Kingdom teaching and instruction] of YHVH are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But transgressors will stumble in them.
[The key to understanding righteousness is to understand God gives us His teaching and instruction for living because He loves us and He never changes His mind. He teaches us some very simple guidelines about how we are to live. It's the original message of the Deceiver to fall for the idea that God does not mean what He says or that He changes His mind. Don't listen to that message any longer.]
[God keeps His promises] It shall come to pass, [that] in the place [in Israel] where it was said unto them, You [are] not my people, [there] it shall be said unto them, [You are] the sons of the living God. [That place, that land is the Promised Land]. Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land.
Therefore I will return, and [I will] to cover her [all Israel – Ephraim’s and Judah’s sin] nakedness. I will sow her [all Israel] unto me in the land; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to [them which were] not my people, Thou [art] my people. Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek YHVH their God, and David [Messiah] their king; and shall fear YHVH and his goodness in the latter days.

It's time to repent and return to God's voice, return to hear and do His words and walk in the faith of His Kingdom path so that you can ready your lamp for your assignment.
Stretch out your hand, and take from the tree of life, and live forever.
Open a Bible, read it, listen to God's voice and do Yeshua's teaching about the forever jots and tittles.
You can learn how the things which are written in the Torah, the Prophets, and the Psalms are concerning Messiah and you can teach others to live life like Jesus, it's love in God's way:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:16-17
Today is the time, open your eyes if you're dead in your own valley of dry bones.
Look up and you'll recognize Messiah from Abraham's promise passed on to Isaac and Jacob as written by Moses in the Torah. You can see Him too in the Prophets and the Writings.
Repent and walk your Emmaus Road with Messiah. Study the Scriptures He taught every Sabbath that are filled with doing life God's way in the Kingdom, and tell others about Him. Be a gatekeeper until the house is complete.
Shalom.
