The road to Emmaus never ends, it's a life journey about relationship and the Bible is the roadmap.

Perhaps since the days of Ezra and Nehemiah, the Torah scroll and the Prophets have been unrolled and read portion by portion each week. It was definitely that way 2,000 years ago according to Acts 13:14-15.

Do you believe Yeshua's words about the Torah?

Yeshua of Nazareth said, "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” John 5:46-47

If not, what do you believe?

I believe what Moses wrote...

"The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him.

This is according to all that you asked of the LORD your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, or I will die.' The LORD said to me, 'They have spoken well.

I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.'" Deuteronomy 18:15-18 NASB95

Perhaps the best known words spoken by Yeshua (Jesus) are found in John 3:16, but what may be missed after that is how the Master Rabbi born in Bethlehem wrapped up the discussion with Nicodemus about being born by the Spirit.

Yeshua shared these words about that. The message is don't just believe... do:

"But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."
John 3:21

After nearly 2,000 years of religious misinformation dividing Christianity and Judaism, Almighty God is leading a reconciliation between two families of faith as we have begun to walk together though weekly Bible study to live by the light and way of God's voice. This relationship is fulfilling Psalm 133 and may mark the mystery of the "fullness of the Gentiles" noted in Romans 11:25-27. .

The Father's voice has never changed. Elohim God is always true to his word, though men fail in theirs. So it's time to not be afraid to toss out knowledge in pursuit of truth.

Engage with the written Word, its lessons, promises and forever covenants that build upon each other.

None of us were at Mount Sinai, but we need to know what Moses said about that: "It is not with you alone that I am making this sworn covenant, but with whoever is standing here with us today before The LORD our Elohim (God), and with whoever is not here with us today..." Deuteronomy 29:14-15

The Holy Bible is unlike any other book, its messages are written from the eternal, unchanging voice of our Creator. It's time to tear out the blank page that divides your Bible because it's time to remember, hear and walk in the spirit of the way of Kingdom truth.

That's part of the lesson given on the road to Emmaus described in Luke 24. It's also Paul's advice to Timothy: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

Bible study, knowledge or belief does not equal living out faith in God. Faith includes a willing spirit to not only believe and repent, but to follow The LORD with a changed, circumcised heart along our life road.

Bottomline, the Hebrew Bible is not an Old Testament.

It is the living truth, the record of Almighty God's instruction providing a prophetic picture of how we are to live in His Kingdom and it reveals the redeeming work of Messiah in days past and those to come.

Yeshua of Nazareth meant it when He said these words as a young boy after Passover in Jerusalem:

“Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” Luke 2:49

Yeshua of Nazareth taught the world the words of The Father to live by. That's the message from in His first public teaching known as the Sermon on the Mount. After repeating several blessings, He laid it all out:

"For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a jot, not a tittle, will pass from the Torah until all is accomplished". Matthew 5:18

It's easy to see all is not accomplished. Heaven and earth remain as our two witnesses. There's much more to come.

Rest Stops Along The Emmaus Journey

It's time for a reset, a re-awakening that The Lord's days on God's calendar begin at evening sunset. We can know that because since creation "there was evening, then day..." It's been God's timing since creation, twilight is the beginning.

There's more to learn because some traditions have been superimposed in the pulpit over the Word of God in the back of the pew despite Almighty God's instruction to not add to or take away from what He has said. It's time to reach out to open that Bible and seek out God's voice that is speaking to you.

When you do you will discover it's time to return to the Biblical calendar and return to The Lord's forever appointments:

"These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of The LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies."

They are summarized in Leviticus 23

Weekly Sabbath-Shabbat

"There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the LORD."

Nisan 14 Passover-Pesach

"In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight is the LORD’S Passover."

Sivan 7 Pentecost-Chag HaShavuot

"You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete sabbaths.

You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh sabbath; then you shall present a new grain offering to the LORD."

"On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly and do no regular work. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live."

"In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation."

“Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls...And you shall do no work on that same day for it is the Day of Atonement."

"The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the LORD." "Rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. Also... you shall keep the feast of the LORD for seven days; The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work."
