Israel-Palestinian Conflict: The Truth About the West Bank

The "Mountains of Israel" are
the so-called West Bank.

Jesus (Yeshua) did not teach in an "occupied territory" called the West Bank. Instead, the Bible reveals that the West Bank is in truth the area called Judea and Samaria. Yeshua taught many deep truths about God's Torah there 2,000 years ago and He prophesied of things to come.

Today, the world's media outlets call this area the so-called "occupied" West Bank, and it is because it seems that Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians and the Amorites descendants occupy it, but despite the opinions of the antisemitic, liberal media, many of today's Arab Palestinians live in the land but moved to it after World War I when agricultural and economic development created jobs.

The World Almanac 2005 states regarding the land that "Jewish immigration, begun in the late nineteenth century, swelled in the 1930s with refugees from the Nazis; heavy Arab immigration from Syria and Lebanon also occurred" (page 789).

During the time of Ottoman rule, Mark Twain traveled through the Holy Land and remarked how sparsely populated the area was, as it had become a desert. However, as the Jewish settlers improved the land that they had purchased during the British Mandate period after World War I and the Balfour Declaration, many Arabs from other areas moved in.

The Council on Foreign Relations provides a narrative of the modern timeline of events of today's conflict from 1914 to 2007. The timeline is also shown in a CFR video.

In addition to the restoration of the land, long ago the prophet Zephaniah was told by God to record that the Hebrew language would be restored one day and why: "That all of them may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him shoulder to shoulder."

Zephaniah is the second witness to the promise given Jeremiah as Almighty God revealed that the ancient language of Hebrew would be restored in the land of Judah:
"Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel,
"Once again they will speak this word in the land of Judah
and in its cities when I restore their fortunes,
'The LORD bless you, O abode of righteousness,
O holy hill!'" Jeremiah 31:23

"For then I will give to the peoples purified lips,
That all of them may call on the name of the LORD,
To serve Him shoulder to shoulder." Zephaniah 3:9
Zephaniah is the prophet that recorded these words from the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel:
"Gather together, yes, gather, O shameless nation, before the decree takes effect -- before the day passes away like chaff -- before there comes upon you the burning anger of the LORD, before there comes upon you the day of the anger of the LORD. ... 
"I have heard the taunts of Moab and the revilings of the Ammonites, how they have taunted my people and made boasts against their territory. 
Therefore, as I live," declares the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "Moab shall become like Sodom, and the Ammonites like Gomorrah, a land possessed by nettles and salt pits, and a waste forever. The remnant of my people shall plunder them, and the survivors of my nation shall possess them." Zephaniah 2:1-2, 8-9
The truth is hard for much of the world to see because they ignore the word of God, sadly even many in the "the church" say His words of instruction are "Old" and done away with.

The reality is the word of God stands unchanged forever. The truth about the West Bank is the land there is allotted by the God of Israel for the people of Israel. Today, there are some 350,000 Israeli souls living in the tiny area of the biggest prophetic news story the world will ever see in  in Judea and Samaria.

Not only that, when we look north at the area bordering Syria, we have to realize Yeshua of Nazareth did not gather his disciples from an area called the Golan Heights.

The truth is that the land area of the Bible we now call the Golan Heights is actually northern Galilee.

The names may be changed for now, but the truth remains: both the West Bank and the Golan Heights are a part of the covenant land of promise and the names and the people will be restored.

The land promise was made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, not Ishmael or Esau.

Ezekiel gives the world an amazing prophecy about the mountains in the West Bank that was occupied by Jordan until the Jordanian-Israeli armistice of 1949. Ezekiel's words speak truth to us today:
"And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say: Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.

Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because the enemy hath said against you:

Aha! even the ancient high places are ours in possession; therefore prophesy, and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD:

Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the rest of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people; therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD:

Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about; therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Surely in the fire of My jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed My land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with disdain of soul, to cast it out for a prey; therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys:

Thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because ye have borne the shame of the nations; therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: I have lifted up My hand: Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.

But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to My people Israel; for they are at hand to come.

For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown; and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded; and I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings; and ye shall know that I am the LORD." Ezekiel 36:1-11 
"And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

And David my servant [shall be] king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, [even] they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David [shall be] their prince for ever.

Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore." Ezekiel 37:22-28 
One key to understanding the everlasting promise and covenant of the land is to understand God gives us His teaching and instruction for living because He loves us. He never changes His mind about that or anything else including His deep love for the Jewish people.

Our Heavenly Father teaches us guidelines about how we are to live. It's the original message of the deceiver to fall for the idea that God does not mean what He says or that He changes His mind about anything. Don't listen to that message any longer. It's a lie from the pit.

Most people don't realize the truth about the mountains of Israel because they ignore God's guidelines. They do not believe the words of Jesus in Matthew 24 either.

The Student Alliance for Israel is Ithaca College's student organization dedicated to supporting Israel summarizes the truth:
"Palestine was never an exclusively Arab country, although Arabic gradually became the language of most the population after the Muslim invasions of the seventh century. No independent Arab or Palestinian state ever existed in Palestine. When the distinguished Arab-American historian, Princeton University Prof. Philip Hitti, testified against partition before the Anglo-American Committee in 1946, he said: "There is no such thing as 'Palestine' in history, absolutely not."

Prior to partition, the people we call Palestinian Arabs did not view themselves as having a separate identity. When the First Congress of Muslim-Christian Associations met in Jerusalem in February 1919 to choose their representatives for the upcoming Paris Peace Conference, the following resolution was adopted:

"We consider Palestine as part of Arab Syria, as it has never been separated from it at any time. We are connected with it by national, religious, linguistic, natural, economic and geographical bonds.

In 1937, a local Arab leader, Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, told the Peel Commission, which ultimately suggested the partition of Palestine these words: "There is no such country! 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria."

Later, the representative of the Arab Higher Committee to the United Nations submitted a statement to the General Assembly in May 1947 that said: "Palestine was part of the Province of Syria" and that, "politically, the Arabs of Palestine were not independent in the sense of forming a separate political entity."

A few years later, Ahmed Shuqeiri, who became the chairman of the PLO, told the Security Council: "It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but southern Syria. Palestinian Arab nationalism is largely a post-World War I phenomenon that did not become a significant political movement until after the 1967 Six-Day War and Israel's capture of the West Bank."
Get this, when the distinguished Arab-American historian, Princeton University Professor Philip Hitti, testified against the partition before the Anglo-American Committee in 1946, he said: “There is no such thing as ‘Palestine’ in history, absolutely not.”

That is the truth.

Nearly 100 years ago, The Balfour Declaration set the stage for the establishment of the modern nation state of Israel.

Three years later after the close of WW I, The Council of the League of Nations declared The Palestine Mandate in 1920:

"Whereas the Principal Allied Powers have also agreed that the Mandatory should be responsible for putting into effect the declaration originally made on November 2nd, 1917, by the Government of His Britannic Majesty, and adopted by the said Powers, in favor of the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, it being clearly understood that nothing should be done which might prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country..."
This map from Eli Hertz clearly shows the mandate that came out of Balfour's Declaration. Take note, there is no West Bank.

The so-called West Bank is post 1949 fiction. The modern definition of the West Bank arose from the Jordanian-Israeli armistice of 1949.

Update September 26, 2014: One News Page reports.... At the U.N. today, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel of genocide and he demanded a deadline to end Israeli "occupation" of the West Bank:
In a speech at the U.N. General Assembly Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel on Friday of conducting a "war of genocide" during the 50-day summer conflict in Gaza but stopped short of saying he will pursue war crime charges against the Jewish state at the International Criminal Court. Abbas said, "This last war against Gaza was a series of absolute war crimes carried out before the eyes and ears of the entire world, moment by moment."

He continued, saying the devastation unleashed "is unmatched in modern times." Abbas also said he will seek a U.N. resolution to set a deadline for Israel to pull out of Palestinian lands captured in the 1967 war but did not include a three-year deadline as his aides had said he would. The recent Gaza war killed 2,100 Palestinians and has weakened Abbas domestically, with his Hamas rivals enjoying a surge of popularity among Palestinians for fighting Israel. Sixty-six soldiers and six civilians were killed on the Israeli side.

Its time to consider what may be the future of the West Bank, it is connected to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount:

"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (who so readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains" Matthew 24:15-16

Jesus says there will be great tribulation in Judaea. There was grave tribulation in 168 BC when a statue of Zeus was put up by Antiochus yet we must know Yeshua's warning can some 200 years later.

Daniel's warning is repeated three times: see Daniel 9:27; Daniel 11:31 and Daniel 12:11. In 70 AD Titus and killed those that did not heed the warning and again when Hadrian had a statue of Jupiter and himself put on the Temple Mount.

Prophecy cycles so it will occur again and notably the gospel of the kingdom has not been preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations. A gospel has been preached, but Yeshua speaks of the gospel of the kingdom. After this Jesus says: then the end will come as He warns of the desolation. He says flee Judaea so His words must be repeated. Read them for yourself.

Perhaps they are the truth about the West Bank. After all, the Judaean mountains are the very mountains found in the Judea and Samaria, the area many call the West Bank.

Since Yeshua warned using the words of Daniel, we have seen two desolations perhaps another will follow. Flee and head for the hills is the warning:
"Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains..." Matthew 24:16
Whether you believe this r not, the Judea and Samaria has a great promise and future.

For now, Palestinian terror, attacks, violence, stone throwing, stabbings, shootings and the murder of innocent Jews are accelerating as a result of a Palestinian jihad not seen since the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948. The future key will be the Temple Mount and the final abomination of desolation there, but there is a storyline for Judea and Samaria from the prophecy given in Genesis 24:60 given to Rebecca:

"They blessed Rebekah and said to her,
“May you, our sister,
Become thousands of ten thousands,
And may your descendants possess
The gate of those who hate them.”" 

The truth of the West Bank is its past, present and future as Judea and Samaria.

Today, there is grave international pressure to enforce a Israeli-Palestinian treaty to divide Jerusalem in the heart of Judaea, to cut away the city and the heartland of the Jewish people and to give away the West Bank turning it into a false reality to create a Palestinian State that sounds like a plan from the deceiver to thwart God's promise given Abraham.

The abomination of desolation is against God's covenant promise given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as well. Today, we have a hint of it as prayer to the God of Israel is desolate on the Temple Mount. When this final desolation of sacrilege from the apocalyptic prophecies described to Daniel and repeated by Yeshua of Nazareth becomes a reality standing in the holy place of the name of the living God of Israel, it is time to run for the hills.

What can you do about this right now?

It is time to pray, time to repent of sin and transgression and time to return to God's covenant, time to return to hear and do His word.

It is time walk in the faith of the gospel of His Kingdom so that you can ready your lamp for your coming assignment and stand with Israel and its people.

The God of Israel is sovereign. The Almighty has given us His Biblical prophets to warn us in advance of these things because He is a loving, merciful God and a time of judgment is coming.

Daniel said so, Jesus said so and He has provided a way to offer all people redemption and salvation under the atonement of His life offering and resurrection so that you may believe and declare the gospel of Yeshua which is the Kingdom of Messiah ben David to come.

You can accept the gift of eternal life in the Kingdom. If you have not done so, it's time to consider carefully what your life is like without Him, look at it and repent of your sins, ask for forgiveness, turn and accept His gift of love through Messiah Yeshua and walk His way toward The Kingdom.

Do it now, He stands at the Mercy Seat waiting for you!

Update April 26, 2018: Analysis: US Rejection of Term ‘Occupied Territories’ Brings Peace Closer

"The State Department’s omission of the word ‘occupied’ when referring to the territory of Judea and Samaria may ultimately facilitate a solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
